Resonated or non?

Okay I've been doing some research into getting a milltek exhaust now. What are the thoughts on non res vs resonated?

I understand non res is louder but how loud is it? I don't want to be an anti social yobbo tbh

Leeroy87:
Ive just fitted a non res miltek catback system and to be honest it's not much louder than stock  :happy2:

I had a non res milltek cat back before going full 3inch dp de cat on my tt mk1 and it sounded awesome on idle and burbles when you let your foot off the throttle not crazy loud either but you know he's coming down the road. not boy racerish or anti social yobbo style lol and It's not scooby loud either.  :signLOL:

You need to hear someone's non res and res before you decide though  :driver:

I have a non res on my Edition 30 and I felt it wasn't much louder than stock to be honest.  Then I got the pre cat removed and it's made the sound deeper but not over the top.

I am happy with the sound now. It doesn't turn heads like a boy racer car but certainly sounds better than the stock exhaust which was way too quiet in my eyes

I have a resonated one which I'm told sounds nice when you work the engine but not really noticeable under normal circumstances. DSG 'fart' is still audible (just) inside the car. Mind you I have Dynamat on the entire boot floor as well.

It sounds nice without being loud, it has a different sound to stock parts. It's also clearly different when the car starts from cold.

I got mine supplied to me for the same price as non resonated. If I were paying full price I would probably choose the cheaper non-resonated option.
My garage knew I was after an OE+ spec for my car and recommended this to me and I've not been disappointed. Aside from the noise difference they're both the same in their function - gas flow and heat management.
