They say the rev g is better but I've read on the forum that some are tearing so the best solution is the gfb dv+ that doesn't have this diaphragm and has a piston alternative which has been recommended by many and why I've replaced my diaphragm.
The dv is the actuator or controller that controls boost and when the diaphragm tears the car loses boost so in turn that needs replacing with a rev g that's meant to be better but alas a load of cack as that one also tears open so comes the GFB dv+ to take the strain off the diaphragm and use its own pre loaded piston spring loaded for I think better pressure hold and no chance of boost leaking from it if you take the GFB and associated bits out and have a close look you'll understand what I mean. I think
The gfb replaces the diaphragm itself and not the rev d g c b a or which ever it is so I don't need the diaphragm that's torn as that's a bin job and no need for a new one of those as the gfb does the diaphragms job and much better so everyone using them say including @Shoduchi @Tfsi_Mike who did a review on the gfb.
Hope that's a little more understandable.
I've not tried and tested it to the full as I'm waiting for tomorrow evening when I take take a good spirited drive and be the judge for myself

Love mine. The boost comes up really well and I agree with others say about it as well. Compared with a Rev G the turbo is faster to spool from half throttle. From a stand still the difference isn't really much.
Dan_FR:
Where you notice the gains from the DV+ is throttle response. As the second spring closes the valve as soon as is possible, even though the ECU would hold it open for longer than needed, it means the boost pipework fills with air that much quicker, meaning you're on boost quicker.
That, as well as a much smoother transition between vac and boost when you're driving and tickling the throttle ( motorway cruising for example). Be warned you will likely get an underlying fault code telling you the DV is not doing its job properly, but thats because of the effect of the second spring. No EML appears

Right drove to my job interview in Islington and I can't believe how the power deliery has drastically changed with immediate throttle response as mentioned by @Dan_FR it's no doubt a lot better but I'm being biased as my dv was split so I maybe over exaggerating things a little but the turbo feels like it holds stringer as I have driven a goof few gti's before I bought this one so can't be wrong in saying it feels a lot stronger.
Something also sounds different like more of a grunt  :driver:
Feels good :happy2:

Yeah I bet it feels likes a different car! Nice one. I imagine DV+ would be most effective on k04 as it will get on boost quicker. I think k03 turbos naturally get on boost quicker. If one comes up second hand I might buy one⦠New job r5gtt?
