R5GTT'S Cars rapid
AJP:
You'll be fine.
I'm on H&R. Wings are untouched since I got the rusty ones replaced by VW - so I haven't done the arch screw mod. I've never heard/felt it rub, and I do take it down the odd B road once in a while, if you know what I mean.
Visibly, there's bags of room.
I'm 8 wide et44.
You'll be 7.5 et35.
Like @Shoduchi points out, it's a matter of 3mm or so more poke. Easy!

I'm still a little worried as I'll have passengers from time to time and I'm guessing your cars mostly empty :signLOL:
My tt was 40mm dropped on amax springs so thinking it should be okay and I had 235 40 18 F1 edge rims and it only rubbed on the M1 once going over a dip at ??? MPH although the golf is most likely different so will have to wait and see once all done.

I'm 15 stone myself and I often drive me and my mate Big Harry to the snooker hall. Big Harry is 21 stone. I kid you not.
There aren't any 21 stone ladies in my life, thankfully...

Yeah you'll be reet. The H&Rs have dropped it about 30mm. I'm considering going for some coilovers soon, to go another 20mm or so lower. I'm confident I could do that with the current width and offset of the wheels and maybe get away with just doing the arch screw mod.
I've done the whole slammed/rubbing thing on the mk4, spent hours messing with shims, spacers, arch rolling and all that, and the current setup isn't even close to causing rubbing problems. There's so much room.
30-35mm is a breeze.
