From what I've read, Ohlins Track & Road seem to offer the best compromise between handling and comfort.
I've had Billie B12s & B14s on other VWs and whilst I love their inverted monotube for damping consistency, I find them too harsh for the roads where I live. Much better the faster you go mind, but at urban speeds, way too crashy. Having said that, suspension is very subjective. One man's harsh is another man's soggy mattress.
Msportman:
KW V3' s for ride comfort and excellent damping adjustment and control for road. That and Ohlins..
Bigger budget I know but I've tried others and many are very crashy and lack the quality ride KW give you that's why they are priced at £1480.
KW Clubsports even more costly but utterly brilliant
Ride quality costs I'm afraid
Why not go H&R springs and B8 dampers? Good cheaper compromise

Would you say V3s over V1s as I assume you can dial in a more compliant ride with the V3s, whereas the fixed rate V1s are stuck on a firmer setting by default?
I'm a fan of KW. Probably going to go for some coilovers in the future but I really want to find the comfiest option.
