I need a new motor

If you're spending £40-£45k, don't need a family car yet, why not consider an early V8 R8? They seem to have been very stable at that price for at least a couple of years too, so you probably wouldn't lose much on depreciation when you're forced to move to something more sensible. Make the most of it while you can though!

Get it to MRC tuning for a stage 2 map (makes the throttle response absolutely electric).

Bear in mind that the C63, M4 and a lot of M3's are quite small cars when you start to try and lug around family stuff. You mention that may be happening in the future. That being the case, get a Cayman in the meantime. They are real weapons and the flat four engines they are now introducing will keep residuals of the 6 cylinder cars high.

You will hardly lose anything on the Cayman and upkeep is not as high as you think compared to the other cars listed

Not wishing to pre-empt the motoring press' reviews, I think you'll find this will be THE car of the year. Hints are it is a stunner.

Oh, and you can spec DCT.  :happy2:

Nice idea but not really great for day to day with these stats- MPG 19 mpg, Insurance Group 49

Cayman i do like, but for that price you can only get the 2.7L which is pretty slow compared. Better in corners im sure but that doesnt swing it. Also not having any room get anyone in the back isnt really ideal

see what the new RS4 is going to be like as its a 3.0 v6 isnt it - get it on a PCP and then just figure out how to finance the balloon payment
