Cheers guys. They were genuinely surprised with the capabilities on the day.

I would suggest Ecotune to anyone btw. Great bunch of guys and very very knowledgable! On that day alone there was about 6 TFSI cars that had been worked on/were being worked on or waiting for work!

It's nice to see a higher mile car getting this sort of thing done. Making me want to spend some money

It was never meant to be this way haha!

It was cheap to buy and I have been lucky with the prices of parts. The bodywork is generally in good condition and it has fsh!

That is pure filth, but it is a good picture.  :happy2:

Every car gets dirty this time of year, nothing wrong with that.

Chris
It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

So it passed its MOT on Saturday. Winner:

I also fixed the brake light issues (finally) by replacing the clutch hall sensor on the master cylinder. No more blown fuses.

And 2 pish photos of the car clean for about an hour, before I drove up to Aviemore for the weekend.

You will need either a cnc machine or to buy one from say Turbo Technics. Then 3 bar map sensor / s3 injectors plus usual stage 2+ add ons and possibly uprated clutch for @360 bhp / lb ft after remap.

Iv done all the stage 2+ upgrades except the turbo. I have a doner turbo ready to build into a hybrid unit. I was just wondering if it’s possible to build yourself.

Cheers

Is basically the guts of a k04 in a k03 housing, so you would need to do some machining. Turbo Technics do new ones outright for @750 with billet compressor and better bearing. I dare say you can find someone to do the work but the saving won't be huge.  IIRC Rtec do drive-in conversion packages with remap.

The car was sold on Christmas Eve 2016.

I ended up buying a large amount of parts from it for an edition 30 I bought in 2018 - the owner I bought the parts from (3 after me) was breaking it as he thought he would make more money than selling it whole.

Since then I have had 2 Edition 30s (both have threads on here) and have just finished ‘restoring’ my 5th mk5 gti - a 2005 1 owner from new GTI, which will be for sale in a couple of weeks.
