Update time!

Managed to grab a couple of evenings last week and made a start on the other floor panel. Again nothing major but some idiot in the past has jacked the car up from the middle of the sill and this has collapsed. So as I have to repair that it’s a simple enough task to do this as well.

Front Jacking Point

Original floor and tunnel removed

New panel ready to go in

Rails cleaned out and painted with weld through primer, will be filled with wax oil once the cars been painted so this will protect it for now.

Time to weld her up. Held in place with a variety of clamps and tec screws.

Did a buy! A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend has had this corrado sat in his garden for years. Interior was completely shot and the shell is rotten through but (excluding the wheels) he only wanted £100!!

Even better news was it’s a VR6, so that’s all the engine mounts, front hubs, cross member and a few other bits I can use. We managed to coax it into life for a few seconds aswell.

There were rumours that it was a forged engine which were quickly expelled once we pulled the head off. Not to worry the crank will find a new life in my R30 build.

That’s it for now! On to the outer sill repairs and then its time to fabricate the tunnel for the prop and 4” exhaust.
