Dashboard illumination problem?

Hi all, can anyone help ...when i turn my headlights or side lights on  after a few seconds the switch itself  stops illuminating as does the interior light switch and hazard switch and esp, has anyone else had this problem? and can i fix it at all?  Thanks for any help

Just read a very useful thread which explained why the lights were going off after a few seconds...it was the cigar lighter no working which turned out to be just the plug had come out... :laugh: very happy now its all working properly :happy2:
