That's annoying!! If it's just the sensor on the bottom of the sump it's an easy fix. If it's a blocked (or partially clogged) oil strainer (also called "oil pick up") it's a more involved fix but still very doable.

Just a note; Blocked oil pick up does need to be addressed quickish as the car will have normal amount of oil in the sump and on the dipstick but not actually enough oil pressure in the system because of the blocked pickup.

Hopefully it's nothing more than a faulty sensor.

€60 for a PCV assembly? I was quoted €120 from VW and they're saving the part in stock! That includes the gasket etc.

Crikey!! That does seem pricey!!

In fairness I bought the PCV assembly 3+ years ago as it was actually for my wife's GTI. I've noticed that as the cars are getting older the genuine VW parts seem to be getting more expensive. I wonder if this is a normal thing with cars as they get a little longer in the tooth and other models have superseded them?? Don't know?

You could try PM'ing fab5freddy on here. He's based in cork (I bought his K04 off him :smiley:).

He has a Seat dealer in the North he buys his VW parts off. He reckons there are good savings to be had. I'm sure he'd give you on the details no bother.

Gave the car another good clean today and put 2 coats of wax on! Comes up incredibly well for an 11 year old car in my opinion.
Nothing too much to report on mods, but going in tomorrow PM for Cambelt, Water Pump, Cam Follower, PCV and DV. Looking forward to driving it after to see if I notice any difference.
Also plan on giving it a service in the next few weeks.

Hoping Shark can get me in for a Remap at some point too. They are doing 25% off so similar price to R Tech but can hopefully get me in a little quicker. We shall see!

Anyhow, here's a couple of photos I took this eve!
