Installing FW to rns 510

Never had a problem with this in the past but I can't seem to install 2680 to my unit.

I put the disc in and it does nothing. I've burned 3 discs now at the slowest speed, all say they're burnt fine.
So I thought I'd go to fw 1200 and try that way. The only was I can get it to even think about installing is using eject setup and info buttons.

Strange one. Any ideas?

What's your procedure?

This is what I did:
 - open car using key
 - get into car and close door
 - don't insert key into ignition
 - make sure it's on FM radio
 - slip disc into unit
 - reboot the unit
 - let it automatically start up

Just outta curiosity, did you verify the discs once burned?

Just remembered, you have to enable downgrade option. Can't remember how though.

i have a 2680 disc that i used on mine, so I know it works, I can send it to you to try?
