grey 06 ka04 upgrade gti/ build thread
croak2012:
listen up! vdub in da house - I just unpimped my auto! and got a gti!
haha
Hi, Ian from London here, new member and new owner of my first ever GTI! I posted a few pics and some specs. I will have many questions in the future , but for now just looking for your first impressions?
Thanks.
Spec:
63000 miles
S3 turbo conversion(koa4),
S3 injectors,
uprated fuel pump,
full milltek quad exhaust with sports cell cat ,
k and n typhoon (i think) induction kit,
samco hosing,
uprated intercooler(forge twintercooler),
lowered on quality springs,
tinted rear windows,
carbon wrapped roof and wing mirrors,
brand new 18" alloys Cades
the gearbox was removed and rebuilt with upgraded parts(bearrings , oil ,output shaft),
a new uprated clutch fitted,
tyres are infinity i think?
remapped by Revo (well over 300bhp on Dyno)
the usual heated seats, etc. that come with gti.
busy doing now:
had car seats steam cleaned and waiting for pry tool kit to put in new window switch trim panels (driver and passenger)
the inside will look really clean after this(scratch really easily and ruin the inside look).
to do:?
Lights - not sure what to do about the lights? got the old halogens and lights are a little hazy.
clean up twintercooler - not sure the best way to do this either.
Rippers:
Hi mate and welcome.
Wow that's a good spec and some nice upgrades. The colour looks nice too.
You'll find plenary of help and advise on here, lots of build threads to trawl through and find inspiration.
Enjoy

Most of which I got from here. I'm storing up a couple of bits at the moment that I'm planing on doing at the weekend.
