So ive had my Mk5 5 since October and i thought it was time to start a thread. Ive had 10 Golfs over the years including GTI's from marks 1 to 5 and all in between. Loving the Mk5 but will always have a soft spot for the Mk2.

So this is how i bought her, totally standard, pretty clean overall but in need of a little love  some locking modules and a cam chain. Straight away I also replaced the Recirc valve, cam follower and PCV.

So the wheels bothered me as they were all kinds of corroded so i figured a quick paint would do for the time being

And i liked the darker look of the R32 ED30 tail lights, not being especially flush after the cam chain i took the cheapskate approach. For less than £10 I'm pretty pleased. I also got some A4 exhaust tips.

I got bored on Christmas Eve and my dash went from this.

To this. My daughters favourite comic character Harley Quinn.

A evening of ebay browsing landed me with these for the princley sum of £160, complete with racing slicks.

A few hours of work and £20 of materials took them to this.

I also noticed the rear springs had both snapped so a slight drop happened. Bit of pig but done without any VW tools.

And finally i got the wheels on.

Future plans are to tint the windows, do something with the exhaust to give it a little more volume, a remap and induction kit.

Looking good. Like what you did with the lights. The wheels were a bargain  :happy2:
