This is a useful thread. Thanks to everyone so far.

Looking to get an RCD330 to use Apple CarPlay after discovering that the Kenwood DNX520VBT in my 2008 ED30 has bluetooth but no support for bluetooth audio streaming...

The link below has reference to an "ISO to Quadlock Adapter with Simulator". Is this also needed or just the unit itself?

Thanks!

The RCD330 looks like a great radio with lots of features but the one small thing I dislike about it is the lack of saving the station name into the preset area.
Is there a way to work around this and get it to save, or is it just something I would have to put up with?  :phew:

Unless they update the firmware, I don't think so. I have seen other models that allow you to add radio station logos, but this model doesn't have that option.

In the MK5 you already have the quadlock connector, so no adaptor needed.
You have two antennas in the MK5 and two connectors, I just use one and didn't use a adaptor.

If you do want one, make sure you get the one I linked to on the pervious page with the updated firmware. And don't forget you may have import charges on top

Only other thing to remember is you may have to update your can bus gateway if you have battery drain issues

Mines all working now - I just had to reset my iPhone. I've been using it on the daily commute to work - little bit buggy but overall I'm well happy with it.

Seller says he's paid too much money for firmware so not willing to give it away. Worth a try I suppose. I should've waited another week and got one

Understood. I'm hoping because mine is a late 2008 I'll get away with it!

I just paid the £5.62 import tax and haven't paid the fee. I've also updated the first post with more details now and bugs I have found.

Got mine this week. £3.33 import tax!

Fitted today and works well. Haven't tried CarPlay yet.

Only issue so far is the MFSW buttons don't work?

Depending on who brought it in, the bill can take up to 3 weeks. My bill was about a week later

Yes MFSW works fine, I have highline clocks in Red which don't show anything on the stereo side I believe the white highline clocks may work but as yet not known. Just trying to source some white clocks now.

Trying to get my MFSW buttons working with the RCD330 today. Are you using the standard Mk5 quadlock adapter for the CAN signal or do you have an adapter?

Hi mate, I used the standard quadlock adapter but it is a MK6 MFSW, so 12 Button Format, not sure what MFSW you have, but I have read somewhere since purchase that it doesn't work properly on the MK5 MFSW (8 button)

I search daily to see if anyone has anymore info on the long coding but as yet nothing.
