chigmuss:
Welcome to the forum Jonk, your Ed sounds like a great buy, are you hoping to keep the miles off it with your other cars? The Rallye sounds interesting, I passed on a dragon (?) green one years ago and regret to this day not buying it. That was when a GTi was £2.5K and a Rallye £4.5K. Ed30's are very tunable and capable cars, as I'm sure you know, only thing missing is the VR soundtrack!

Thanks.
The A6 is a 2005 estate, with the seats down it's like a tardis and the 1.9TDI gives me about 700mls to a tank. Great for a parts mover and plenty room for the dog and also it doesn't matter if she covers it in hair and mud. I work month on and month off so the Edition will remain relatively low miles, I'll use it plenty when home and the wife will use it on an off when I'm away. The R32 did 6000mls in 2yrs. The Rallye has been painted, had the engine rebuilt and the front end bushed and coated. Just needs the rear end dropped and stripped and all the electrics sorted. If I'm honest I can't really be bothered with it but it's an investment. Little things annoy me like I bought a new bonded screen for it which is missing a clip - can I find a clip anywhere for it?, not a chance. I think I'll finish it and sell it on.
The Mk2 is ace. Completely redone and is mint, will never sell it as it has too much history with me and wife and apart from paint it's pretty much a new car with all the work that's been done on it. Once I suss out how to post pics, I'll put some up.

Great story. A great investment by way of the Rallye, crazy prices for some now. The Ed should be a good investment too if you keep the miles that low. There'll always be a market for well specced low milers. Mine's now on 80+ and I can't bring myself to sell it. It just does everything, mountain bikes in the back, great for a blast, decent on fuel n insurance. What colours your Mk2. Mine's a grey 3dr '91, made it through it's original 8V engine, that made way for a 2.9 out a Corrado which sadly let go, and there it waits....9 years since my daughter came along, engineless, :driver: sat in my garage. And like you, I'll never sell it, so many great memories. :happy2:

It's an oak green 16v.
Went to London for it in 97 and sold it in 2005 when we bought the house. I had numerous Mk2's since but none ever fitted the bill as Jonk did. I tracked it down and stuck a note through the door. The lad was willing to sell but he knew the story so offered it up at 6500 which I refused. 2yrs later I went back and he had lost his job so wanted to sell. He had a 5dr oaky also and said I had to take both cars or none. I had budgeted 5k for Jonk and bought both cars for 5500. Sold the 5dr for 2700 so I got my car back cheap. It had done 24000mls in the 10yrs since I sold it, same wheels, tyres, interior, steering wheel, battery, it was like the day I sold it. Since then it's had everything done. Just waiting to get it detailed next week as the paint is original and kind of dull, I cant afford to paint it so hopeing a detail will sort it out.
Whats the best option for loading pics, tried flikr and that imgBB with no joy
