Friends an accontant and, you can't claim anywhere near as much as you used to be able to for cars or travel, think it's something like 10% on fuel and 20% on the vehicle obviously nothing to be snubbed at but really not worth it anymore.

I'm sure it's nice for some to own the newest cars but really there's nicer cars and better at that already made and cheap too from people changing to lease agreements Golf R people a prime example 18k miles at £18k

Yeah IR35 killed off the loopholes people were exploiting back in the early 2000s.

I could never rent a car.  It's in my blood to tinker and modify. Paying £400 a month for an R and not being able to mess with it.......hell no!!

Yeah I couldn't do it I like tinkering too, not to the same extent as you though  :signLOL: , but when you look at the difference per month between a standard golf (£300 per month at the minute) and an R, you'd be crazy to get standard one.

Yeah my mate's paying £250 p/m for a GTD and it's dull.  Haven't looked at R prices lately, but the steaming deals from a couple of years ago are gone.   Another mate pays £450 p/m for an AMG A45, epic car, but tacky interior.  Not my thing, but fast as fook.  Mine keeps up with it on the move, but from a standstill, it's see ya later Eddy!!

I'd rather try the GTE over a GTD to be honest, not as much need for the GTD now since the GTI gets 40 something mpg in traffic (real world figure).

All wheel drive for you, as much as I like the A45 mechanically it is dull in looks and interior the new C-class on the other hand  it's something else I'd clean a guys new C63 S frequently and it's the kind of car I'd sell my own and someone elses kidneys for  :signLOL: massive improvement over the old one, and leagues ahead of the M4.
