Leroy:
Jesus! I’m £1300 lighter but the golf feels like a new car. £400 in parts, £400 quid labour and £500 plus postage for the vwr suspension but its a reincarnation. Car sits perfectly a good few mm than standard but the handling is totally transformed.

The joker I bought it off who said it had a full service and cam belt change last year was talking utter bulls**t, the mechanic showed me the everything he replaced and they were all shot to bits I managed to salvage 2 front springs, 2 rear shocks and the ngk plugs were ok but pollen filter, air filter were caked in crap, oil hadn’t been changed for years and there was no way the cambelt is less than 12m old. Anyway, all replaced now, goes like stink and glides around corners like an F1 car (maybe a slight exaggeration) but I’m over the moon and this laser blue gets to fight another day.

After seeing the Mrs’ face when I told her what I’ve spent, the mods will have to wait for now, now time to start the detailing, fit the leds and maybe get a Matt black badge for christmas if I’m lucky!

I’ll get some pics up!

Leroy:
Also treated me and the wife to personalised plates to smooth things over.

Happy wife, happy life....

Stig_gti:
Put some pics up mate of how the car sits now.
