Best people to sell a car to?
Chris92:
Looking for any other alternatives to 'we buy any car' that people know of who I can check out for the best price of my car? Need it gone, can't shift it private. Thanks

Bring the price down slightly and eBay it, cut your losses?
I once sold my first car, Fiat Punto 1.1sx, on eBay that wasn't even roadworthy for around £400 (listed as no MOT/for spares or salvage etc...) and even in working order it can't have been worth much more (back in 2006) than £500 at the time!
I personally can't stand the "we'll buy any vehicle" type of companies. They will always adjust their valuation offer to be minus 30-35% of the cars actual market value because that's where their margin is inherited on every car. It's pretty easy money for not much work and they're pulling the sellers' pants down at the end of the day...

Already tried ebay many of times now, couldn't even shift it for £11k! Plenty of dreamers plus dodgy people but nothing serious :rolleye: this was a couple of months ago now and was just going to bang it in part ex but there's nothing on to my spec yet so getting sick of running it etc now so want it gone.

When I've tried them in the past, the price is pretty much the same across the main ones... And you can bet that when it comes to the actual sale, the price they give you will be even lower as they'll find a dozen reasons to knock the price down even further. I'd be very surprised if you cant shift it privately for more than what these firms will offer

What model of car you trying to sell, as that would decide my choice of advice I could give.
