Today I took both drop links off and quick drive the noise is still there, so I guess that rules out arb bushes?

Yeah, I think so as well. The ARB wouldn't move much without the drop links connected.

Try tugging the tie rods with the car up and wheels off, see if it replicates any of the noise

My moneys on it being some bolts being loose..... maybe your caliper / carrier bolts...  :signLOL:

Mine makes clicking/clunking noises at slow speeds when braking, forward and reverse.  It's the front calipers/pads.  Just haven't been arsed to sort it yet.

Inner CV joints click under load, usually only when pulling away from a standstill - where the load is highest on them.  Worse on hill starts.

Outer CV joints click/knock/jolt when cornering close to, or at, full lock.

A worn rack and pinion usually feels vague around centre and knocks over bumps.   You can confirm by jacking it up, putting the steering on full lock and shaking the tie rod on the fully extended side violently.  There should be no play.  Repeat on the opposite side.

200nm + 180 degrees. They never come loose.  I think someone forgot to torque it  :grin:

I've done that with mine once and quickly took the wheel off and tightened it  :doh:
