Thanks man,
   I read a few posts about opening up the headlights. From what I read, the xenon headlights use a "hard glue" and cannot be opened using the oven/heatgun method. Here's a pretty good write up http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f15/diy-joey-mod-mk5-xenons-46509.html

I did not remove the xenon bulb as he recommends and had no issues. In my opinion, it's just an extra complication. Just don't take a Jeremy Clarkson approach  :grin:

While you've got them open, I'd really recommend the exLED upgrade (link in my first post). I REALLY like the new look (see the video above)
