Mk5 stage 1 remap recommendations in Surrey/ South East
« on: September 11, 2018, 06:58:15 pm »
Would like to know if anyone has a recommendation for stage 1 remaps on a Mk5 GTi AXX engine. Looks like there are lots to choose from and varying prices. I'm not after the most powerful, but something reliable that hopefully won't destroy various engine parts.

Have you considered the superchips bluefin? Got one on mine and I'm very happy with it.

Much as I rate my Revo, they do cost rather a lot for a car of this value and Rtech would be my recommendation for both cost and expertise.

I've heard lots of good things about rtech but it is a fair distance from me. I would prefer something more local. I have looked at AMD, my local Revo dealer and JF automotive. I hadn't considered Blue fin, but will take a look now. If anyone has had any dealings with AMD and JF Automotive I'd be interested to hear any feedback. Thanks

Revo or Bluefin will be fine.  Both reputable companies and they don't push things too hard.

AmD and RTech aren't known for their realistic dyno numbers, which is something to bear in mind.

If it were me, I'd go with Revo or BF.  Both have the better provenance.  Revo and Superchips have been at it for decades and produce realistic, consistent results.
