Fuel gauge – inverted & seatbelt warning light

Newbie here - be kind.

Just bought a MK5 GTD Sport, and it seems to have some electrical issues.
The fuel gauge reads the wrong way round – so when I fill it up, it says it's empty – bizarre. Also, a seatbelt warning light/tone intermittently comes on. Are these cheap/easy fixes? Do these point to a bigger issue?

Also, looking for best specialist garage/mechanic for things in the future around the Kent (West Kent/Tunbridge Wells) area – recommendations welcomed!
