Another update .....This time some new headlights to freshen up the front end ...decided to go with some Depo headlights as they are tried and tested and one of the best aftermarket headlight brands going. And i was not disappointed the headlight came well packaged and with instructions not that you need them..The great thing about the Depo's as well as the build quality is the  side lights go into the lower indicator section which is really nice ..I have put my osram night breakers in for now but i will be installing a 5000K hid kit soon and will also be replacing the high beams. I did put new led side lights in tho which look great . i hope to replace the front fog lights too to the projector type which will tie in nicely with the headlights.....

Looks great with the new headlights fitted!
I have the same ones waiting for me to fit on Friday.
I also have some LED H7 bulbs to fit, which you may want to consider? I was impressed with the ones I've seen fitted on youtube channels etc.

I can let you know what I think when I get mine fitted this week  :happy2:

I fitted my headlights and LED bulbs (Can give you details, but not sure what the forum rules are?)

Only been fitted for a few hours, but I’m very impressed with them and the power/ intensity of light. Easily as good as HIDs - and they were just plug and play with the Depos.

I would 100% recommend.

I also passed my MOT this afternoon with them fitted in the projectors, so shouldn’t have any worries on that front.

Hope that helps.

Dean

Here is a link to the ones I fitted today

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123240620374

They were cheaper than the osram nightbreakers I used in my old lights!

I’m using depos same as you.
They flicker when you first turn the ignition on, which I think is when the canbus does a mini diagnostic on the car.

Had no errors and they are amazing in the dark (just went for a quick drive to try them out).

another update ...so first up is the new projector style fog lights this was a must for me to tie in with the Depo headlights i have just brought and to be fair i needed them one old ones were totally shot..Another great thing is these are Chinese copies so cost peanuts compared to Original projector fog lights ..Fitment was great  and also came with new bulbs which was a bonus . But i have already decided i will replace with something else later on.

Now this next mod was something i was not sure about getting at first and talked myself out of getting a couple of times  but going by the positive feedback from quite a few people i decided to get some dynamic mirror indicators and why not the old ones were faded and full of dead fly's so thought i needed an upgrade . First of all these are awesome the light output is 100% better than oem so much more modern.

Good decent upgrades that make the car look a little more fresh…

Also replaced my left headlight to a DEPO - however my car has original Xenon lights, and I must say that the DEPO leveling motor looks to be a more "wiggily" than the genuine one when car is holding in iddle. But will leave this be for now, since I will enjoy that I finally has to clear headlight lenses hehe..

Also not to shoot down the copy lens fog lights - but been there and done that, they will corrode in the back very fast compared to genuine ones.
You can buy genuine ones with H8/H11 socket and DE lenses if you take the partnumber from a Jetta. They will fit Mk5 GTI bumper perfect, I have this to my car.
