Mk5 Golf GTi - won't start

Hi there, currently stranded with a non-starting Golf. I presume it's something starter related, battery seems ok, any suggestions ... it sounds like something a whack with a hammer in the appropriate place would fix!!

Have you tried a jump start?

Try jump start, if no then starters had it

Embarrassingly, it looks like you're right. I ruled this out in my head as I'd driven it 20 mins earlier, however, I bump started it and it started ok again a few min later. Thanks for the replies.
