Replacing gear cable end bushings
« on: February 06, 2019, 07:29:19 pm »
Looking to remove the last bit of side to side slop from my gear shift.  After having fitted a 42DD bushing kit, new friction piece slider, & realigned everything I can see there is still a fair bit of play in the end of the side to side cable that attaches to the gear stick. The linkage is moving around a fair bit in here before it actually puts tension on the cable itself.

Dieselgeek cover this in a video and also sell replacement bushings for the worn factory parts.

Has anyone done this? What’s involved?

Cheers
