Made a dogs dinner of replacing my headlight switch

Well it's in bits now i pulled or pushed to get it out but!!!  how the hell do I get it out of there any ideas please

Sorry should have said the front part of the switch, the bit that turns just cracked off so now all i have is the barrel of the switch stuck inside the housing I have no idea how to get it out... So it's stuck in this housing below

Can't you ram some needle nose pliers into the switch  and then turn it

No Booby tried that not much to get a grip on.. I think it must be in the locked position only option is to get at ftom behind the housing.. FFS a simple procedure I'm so mad at myself

Oh dear is putting it mildly got at it from the side removed the fuse panel inside the driver's door.. the surrounding cover had plastic rivets so had to break them looked pretty agricultural but got it done with the new switch put in.. What a dose
