MK7 GTI Art Velour seats into my GTI MK5?
« on: March 19, 2019, 12:28:04 pm »
Hi,

I have upgraded the front seats of my Edition 30 to some VXR recaro buckets and the rear seats are the leather tartan seats. I wanted to buy something which would match a little more so thought I would upgrade to something from the MK7 GTI seats..Is this a straight fit or requires modifications? I have seen the art velour seats which would be a nice upgrade for the edition 30.

Thanks.

I believe the Mk7 seats have different mounting points so need work to make them fit.

Are there any other seats that will fit without any modifications?

Thank you for the reply!

Mk6 seats are a direct fit I'm led to believe or maybe Audi A3 seats of similar vintage.

Tried finding mk6 seats but nothing for a good price. A3 seats fit the golf?   Which ones exactly as Audi do have some nice seats.. Maybe I can get some nice ones for the edition 30..

Or maybe it will look weird having Audi seats in a Golf ?

It's come up on here before and I'm sure someone said MK7 fronts bolt right in, but the rears are obviously completely different.  The airbag and electrical harnesses will be different to a MK5 as well.

Anything A3 from the same years should fit, possibly the TT as well.

I'd be surprised if the TT rear seats would fit straight in.

I meant the fronts  :happy2:    The only rear seats close to fitting in a MK5 are MK6 ones.
