Oil Filter socket size

(1/1)

El1M1N8OR:
Replacing the Oil filter and I don't have the right socket size.

A shifter is just flexing the plastic.

What is the right size of socket?

And I notice an arrow on the cartridge, Is it counter threaded?

This will be the one

I got a 36mm socket from halfords.

I think the most frustrating bit of this job is removing the sh*tty plastic screw that covers that drain plug. I never tighten that up anymore you need a "special tool"

It's that thing in the person's hand above. Look at the weird wavey pattern on it.

Pair of vice grips took the cap off.

A shifter on the 36mm nut the whole nut flexes.

Got a 36mm from Halfords, at £14.  Probably get on off Ebay for £4.  Can't wait for days though...

Lol, that cover just comes off dead easy on mine, no biggy at all   Maybe yours was cheesed up by mole grips by a previous owner.
