Intermittent Mirror Dip in Reverse
« on: July 23, 2019, 10:40:19 am »
Hi all,

Has anyone experienced this before? When I put the car in reverse, the mirror dips although sometimes it doesnt. If I move the toggle switch from the Left mirror to the Right and then back again it will dip but obviously thats not how it should be! Any ideas? New switch?

Rob

That feature only works if the selector is on for left mirror operation.

Yes, sorry, maybe I wasnt clear. The switch is always left on the left mirror, the issue is its intermittent as to whether the mirror dips or not. When it doesnt I have to turn it to the right and then back to left to 'reset' it and then it dips.

I would think a lazy lefthand side mirror motor since the item and feature works as its meant to.

Choosing the right switch puts the mirror into a different position and use a different motor (there's two or more motors within your mirror depending if folding etc)

I had the same issue for years and put in a new switch this week and it's now dipping correctly, my auto close mirrors now also work.

I suspected the switch tbh. I want to upgrade to Mk6 switches anyway so hopefully this will resolve it.

Thanks for the reply!
