revision g DV causing turbo flutter
« on: July 27, 2019, 09:50:57 pm »
Hey guys, so i have fitted an brand new DV revision g as not aware of when or if it has been replaced previously. Did the fitting myself and took her for a run. I have a revo intake, the pshhhh sound disapeared and instead now have turbo flutter. Could tell straight also that was down on either boost or power too. I've picked up fault code p0033 which seems to relate to the DV. Not really sure whats going on. Im also running vis HPFP internals and apr stage 1.

Might sound a bit silly, but did you definitely connect the DV plug fully ?

Funny you the mention the plug. I bought the vag electrical service tool and when trying to get the plug off the dv body, it snapped the clip. It did feel pretty tight when put back on. I take it, it’s that? What’s those plugs called because I’ll need a new one.

Oh no! I guess it’s not for everyone. I didn’t mind it but probably get on my nerves after a while!

I’ve chased mine for ages! Still can’t figure it out! I think it’s something to do with mapping tbf, but waiting for winter to come as have a few other issues which I think are all linked. It’s a stupid squeal flutter with mine so not a nice one at all. Lol

The K04 always flutters, especially when tuned. The DV and recirc pipework cannot vent the volume & pressure quickly enough through that long skinny pipework to fully avoid the compressor stalling

Mines a K03 Dan, I was referring to mine fluttering when there's no way it should be. I think its down to the rubbish map or something is dying and the DV is delayed, you can hear it squeal flutter and then a slight psshh as if the DV just engaged lol

and yes the K04 flutters and I agree that's why.

Map shouldn't influence DV operation at all. What DV is it? Not a GFB DV+?

I have no idea why it does it tbh. I have the Rev G and tried Rev D made no difference. you've probably seen my other posts about it Dan.
