retro fitted factory xenon adjusting height problem.
« on: August 08, 2019, 12:05:27 pm »
I have recently fitted  factory xenons to my gti.
When I took it to the mot centre to have them adjusted they were very low he adjusted them up but ran out of adjustment so they were set to the maximum height the manual adjuster would go.
Since driving now when on main beam they appear far too high.
Is it possible to adjust the shutter with software or is that only if you have factory fitment with level sensors. It seems the shutter need lifting up so they headlight can then be lowered to correct the main beam height.

There is a small hex screw behind the dip beam part of the headlight (on the back )does anyone know if this manually adjusts the shutter ?
Anyone else had a similar problem with retro fit xenons?

There's a white hex screw on the top, to the side of the the bulb compartment which you can turn to adjust the level manually.

That's all you can really do without the auto levelling sensors as far as I know.
