Stage 1 remap
« on: September 05, 2019, 11:24:54 am »
I know this has been covered so many times and I apologise as I'm so confused about it know, I'm looking for a good value stage 1 remap that is bot aggressive but like the standard pick up with added power and not a sudden surge of power.
I had a Saab 93 Aero that had very nice power delivery and would something close to that as that golf is similar but I just would like a bit more.

Thank you in advance for your advice

Although I have had Revo stg 1 on my car, both this and APR are rather expensive for the value of our cars nowadays. Rtech are acclaimed tfsi specialists and offer a custom remap package with intake / injector clean for a similar price.

If you can't stomach the trip to rtech then maybe consider Superchips bluefin stage 1, I'm more than happy with mine.

Thanks for the input so far for me to get to R-Tech is about 2 1/2 - 3 hours so I guess with the remap and travelling I would be at APR prices.
I've heard of Bluefin but not to many reviews about it, so that's something I could consider, can you run on 95 or 98 fuel

You don’t want to run on anything lower than 98 Octane otherwise you will lose ignition advance, which means power and throttle response.

Sat here waiting for it to be done. The lads are excellent and really nice. Informed me of a new leaking pipe needed and cam follower which was great. Looked over the whole car and told me of all the things needed. Lots of little things, which as an enthusiast is great! Worth it just for that. Told me my AXX engine was one of the best they have seen in a while which was also reassuring. I will report back when I get home.

My old girl is running 204 bhp standard so really pleased. So far so good!

My car made 241bhp which was great. The difference is real! More eager, more pull mid range and a sweeter drive. Thumbs up!

That's a great increase, can I ask what fuel you are running on and the cost of the remap.
