GTi Towbar

Anyone know if the towbar for a gti is the same as a normal mk5 towbar? Im getting mixed information online. Cheers!

I think it is. It better be anyway as I bought and removed a towbar from a mk5 GTI a few days ago from a wreckers to be installed on my Mum's  mk5 2.0
When I purchased one for my car a few years back, the guy at the counter just looked through his book for mk5 golf to give me the price.

I think they are different but can't confirm 100% I think they differ as the gti has bigger back box.
Id brought a second hand one myself but ended up getting a new westfalia one for the gti and there was a slight difference in shape but then again they were different makes.
