Alarm siren fault
« on: September 24, 2019, 04:55:59 pm »
Hi, just bought a new MK5 GTi, new to me anyway, 06 plate, registered March 2006, so guessing its the ‘earlier version’. I’m looking to tinker with it a bit, VCDS mods etc. But I have this issue, alarm doesn’t work. Is the fault in the comfort control module what’s causing it? Is it a simple swap. Is there a better/newer version? I have searched on here and googled but not had much luck so far.

Also looking to retro fit folding mirrors and convert midline to highline cluster. Is this massive work or relatively simple? I have VCDS and can find m6 way around most things on it with 5he superb help offered by you guys along with some of the write ups and how to guides.

Thanks in advance  :happy2:

Mine did the same a while back, bought a new unit on Aliexpress, still works perfect. In mine the batteries had leaked out and destroyed the electronics.

Check your fuse - the alarm sits on a fuse itself.

think it's fuse C35 or C36.. Not sure though

I have similar issue alarm sounds when I unlock the car but doesn’t when I lock it. Also coming home lights stopped working to. Was told new control module witch has to be set up via vcds. Would like to replace mine to have no clue
