Nay problems my man.  I'm not trying to poo poo your plans, just trying to save you some wedge and grief.

Swapping in a CDL is an excellent plan.  It's arguably the best TFSI engine ever made.  Strong, powerful and reasonably cost effective.  You can get a low mileage one for less than £2K.  Or if you want to go balls out, you can get a brand spanker from TPS/VW for around £4K, but you will need to a turbo and ancillaries on top of that.
