Help required with 3 engine fault codes
« on: November 10, 2019, 09:44:01 pm »
Hi all

So I scanned the car today trying to figure out why my central locking system keeps locking and unlocking at low speed by itself. No faults logged

Anyhooo I spotted 3 engine faults. My first thought after some googling is a possible bad n80 but any input would be helpful.
I’m running pretty much stock but with a DV+

I'm pretty sure that bottom one is the charcoal canister and pipework.

First step is to clear the codes and see which ones come back, but the top one could be a sticky DV+.  The brass piston can bind in the alloy housing and is why I stopped using that DV.

The second error could be a worn HPFP cam follower, or the sensor on top of the pump could be cracked?

The third error is a pain in the arse and sometimes requires a new N80, new charcoal can, new charcoal can pipe and a new fuel filler cap to completely resolve.   Start with the cheaper items first.  Some folk also find brimming the tank causes that error, but that's never happened on mine.
