multiple misfires
« on: November 17, 2019, 04:21:29 pm »
Hi Guys,

I have a MK5 Gti, i added a BOV to the old DV one of the ones of ebay. After about 2 minutts of driving car started misfiring on idle and even whilst driving was dropping revs.  It only happened after the BOV install, the DV is still slightly ripped, i have one on order coming soon.  Now VCDS is showing me misfire in all 4 cylinders P0300. P0301,P0302,P0303, P0304.

And also some codes to do with DV
P0299,P1093, P1297.

I would assume that the DV was broken before aswell but it did not misfire then, so why is it doing it now.

So basically my question is, is all this because of the DV or is this a co-incidence and something else has gone wrong.

Thanks

are you sure the BOV was fitted correctly? these cars have a recirculating DV for a reason, but others have run the BOV adaptor.

i would get a new DV fitted and double check for proper fitment for the DV/BOV to turbo. also make sure you connect the DV plug too.

for it to experience these issues the minute after fitting the BOV tells me theres an issue with something there.
