Jesus, that's crazy. I must drive like a Granny I'm getting 400miles which equates to 33mpg average per tank. [400รท12.1gallons]

I don't tend to drive fast very often to be honest,  just seems that's all I can get out of her

Thanks for the help guys! So based on the responses, I'm looking to get around 30-35mpg which I'm happy with.

Next question.... Manual or DSG?

Would love a DSG but read a few things with reliability. What are your thoughts?

I've had my edition 30 for 6 years and do a combination of motorway and country lanes, I've never had above 28mpg as an average:-)

If I cruise at 50mph on the motorway i can get it to 34mpg instantaneously.....

What do other folks get as an average mpg?

After owning 2 GTI's both DSG and now my 3rd also DSG lol, I would say that it depends all on the driving and how heavy your right foot is.

I can get between low 20s and mid 30s local driving and on the motorway, I can get high 30s. Again, all depending on how aggressive you drive.

Love it and it shall love you back haha, always smiles per gallon with the GTI  :happy2:!

MPG is not the defining factor, it's just something i have to take into consideration due to my daily commute.

Just wanted to see what people were getting  :P

My car had a full service + brake fluid change 2 weeks ago and after being serviced I noticed a drop around 2/3mpg on my all my commutes :(

The only difference on this last service from all the previous ones is that the car is now using Castrol Edge 5w40 rather than Quantum 5w30. The car drives smoother as expected after a full service. Just don't understand the drop in mpg :(
