Milltek non res 3”, does it drone?
« on: May 18, 2020, 11:18:21 pm »
I picked up one today, it’s a non resonated cat back (msvw 260), planning to fit into my gti dsg 2005 golf, car is totally standard otherwise.

has anyone got one fitted, are they loud ? Do they drone much ? I’m hoping it’s not  too loud, , quality of the exhaust looks top notch tho.

Similar to Milltek - my DSG came with 3” Cobra non-res cat back -
Nice reverb in underground car parks, the DSG farts were good and wet! - but it was too loud - I can remember my ears ringing after the 100 mile drive after picking it up.
I was conscious of starting the Golf up out side the house and it just droned on motorway.
Ended up getting a silencer added, still sounds good, farts are muffled but still there and it still roars on kick down. HTH

I've got a Milltek non res decat turboback and i dont think its very loud. Sounds quite standard at idle and normal speeds. It has a low drone at 80, but nothing that loud.

I don't find my Milltek non-res very loud either which suits me fine.

Thank you, I’m hearing similar reviews that milltek is pretty quiet at idle but loud when it gets going, I’ll find out soon enough, thank you for the advice tho
