My Mk5 Golf GTI
« on: March 04, 2022, 07:41:12 pm »
Hi there, here are a few photos of my Mk5 GTI. I've owned this car since 2017 .
All standard apart from a K&N panel filter, and I've removed the cell from the pre-cat.
Its only just turned 81k. Still get a massive grin every time I drive it.
What do you think?

Personally I love modifying and watching builds but it's really cool to see a really good condition standard one almost as it came from factory :happy2:

Any plans with it or just keep it well maintained?

Hi mate, I was thinking of adding some eibach lowering springs and a stage 1 map. However I’ve decided it’s time to sell and move on as I need a van.
I’d love to keep it and use at weekends but it ain’t going to happen ☹️

As said, nice standard example with low mileage.
If you can afford it, I’d be tempted to just store it, watch it appreciate in the next 5-10 years.
Getting too old for this...

Looks good to me, car prices are up right now so I wouldn't let anyone push you much below that price, it's a a
good price for the condition, miles, history.

That is a steal for the condition, mileage and being standard, which is rare.....and a big selling point.

I don't remember the standard ride being that lofty though

You're not wrong. Been looking at GTDs because of the miles I do and they have sky rocketed.  Can almost get a MK6 R for the same price as a late, low mile MK6 GTD now  :stupid:

I know mate Mrs wants a dsg Audi A1 now and with the spec and age she's after looking at 15k... as much as I tried she wasn't having a dsg gtd or gti  I bought mine for 6.5k 3 years ago and looks like with its age and miles and say if it was standard it looks like it would sell for 6k easy right now. Crazy market right now.

It's only going to get worse!  Shame she's not up for a DSG GTD as that is probably the soundest buy in the hatchback market at the moment!
