235 vs 225 on road, worthwhile getting wheels refurbed?
« on: June 01, 2020, 09:59:51 pm »
Hi guys, first post on here but have been reading for a while.

Had a look through past queries for this, but couldn't find a concise answer:
Is there any tangible benefit to go from 225s to 235s? I'm about to do all 4 tyres and this crossed my mind. Price difference is around 20 per tyre. My thinking would be it would be very minimal, slightly better road holding and maybe a bit comfier, but losing the stretched look and more rolling resistance.

I'm thinking of Goodyear Eagle F1s (any recommendations on another tyre very welcome), €96.40 for the 225s, €120 for the 135s

The wheels in question are the Charleston (I think?) diamond cut wheels with grey insides. The faces are quite badly corroded (will post a proper pic tomorrow). I've heard its anywhere from €80 - €120 to get these refurbed, would I probably be better off trying to sell them and getting decent set new? I like them, but I'm not overly interested in paying basically the price of a new set of different alloys for a refurb.

Thanks in advance.
