Central locking/Alarm Fault
« on: July 29, 2020, 07:17:35 am »
Hey new owner of a 3 door gti here.

My passenger side door isn’t locking, I’ve had the car scanned and it shows;

01134 Alarm Horn No signal/communication
00893 Switch for trunk handle Short to Ground

Would either of these two faults cause the door to not lock or am I looking at a new door locking module as well?

Thanks in advance :)

Just an update for anyone wondering/having the same problem. Near side locking module was replaced and all working now no alarm going off in when locked. Price from TPS was £160 ish plus vat iirc. Boot switch was replaced to but fault still present found the wiring loom from the body to the hatch damaged and melted. (Start here first as fixing the wiring is cheaper than a new switch) Fixed up the wires temporarily and it’s all good now will be soldering them permanently next week. Yet to change the alarm horn but suspect that the battery has leaked all of the pcb much like everyone else has discovered when facing that fault code in VCDS.
