Boot wiring

Im installing trailer wiring and have all the wires I need except for needing an always on 12v connection for the bypass relay.
Can anyone tell me what this yelow wire is that has nothing connected to it?

I had a prober look and it runs into the hatch.
Managed to finish wiring up my trailer connection so not to worried about this anymore.

I’m no expert but that yellow wire looks like an Earth.

It is indeed an earth.  Should be a brown wire though, tut tut VW.

Isn't the ciggie outlet on the driver's side parcel shelf support permanent live?

Wasnt sure and didnt want to mess up existing wiring so just pulled one through from the fuse box.

Everything working so Im super have with the small amount I spent getting a towbar from the wreckers yard
