New Golf GTi Mk5 owner
« on: September 08, 2020, 08:19:56 PM »
Hi all, bit of a noob round here.

I recently made a purchase of a friend's golf GTI that has been sat for over 3 years. For £200 I think it's a bit of a steal and working as motor factors I can get the job done at a very low cost.

I'm looking for a bit of help. I can't seem to unlock the passenger door? Maybe a door lock switch?
Windows won't unlock? Maybe new switches?
Radio doesn't work?
Lights in the centre console don't work. But the fans do? Can't tell what fan speed it is on nor can I see the climate controlled temperature on the digital displays. I believe the heated seats don't work either!!!

Is this all linked? Potentially a communication unit??

Spent the whole weekend trying to get her back to normal

Here are some before and after pics.

Any help will be appreciated,

Tom

Wow, what a project.

I'm sure you'll get all the help you need on this forum, some very helpful people and resources like this.

Be sure to keep us updated. I, for one, am interested in seeing how this goes/comes out.

Good luck!

Best 1st post ever. TWOHUNDREDPOUNDS :congrats: :congrats: :drinking:
Needs decontaminating by the looks of that steering wheel. Good luck  :happy2:
If your not sure which way to go with it Id get a garage report done by a vw specialist At least they will pinpoint everything that
 needs attention
Get yourself a VCDS cable and a new battery fitted along with the passenger seat :happy2:
