can someone tell me.....when you come in from your lap/laps, and you stop the car, I know its important not to put the handbrake on, but if you have a DSG box does this also mean that you can't put the car in park?
If this is true, is it just a case of turning off the engine and leaving the car in D, leaving the keys in the ignition untill the brakes have cooled?

Also how long would it normally take for the brakes to cool?

SteveP:
When you come off a hard lap on standard brakes I always went for a cool drive drive down the long straight next to the ring entrance.

When you then get back to the car park just leave it in D with the handbrake off. No need to leave the keys in.

I would then give the car 30mins before the next lap  :happy2:
