First VW, First GTI

So I got this recently, Mk5 in Tornado Red with Tartan and 6 speed.
The paint is more pink than red at the moment but that’ll be fixed.
Loads of history along with a few nice mods.
Ram air full CAI intake (soon to be replaced)
Miltek 3 inch turbo downpipe with a 200 cell cat.
Remap to 264hp and 334lb/ft of torque by Autobay here in Ireland.
It’s it a small ding on the rear passenger door and a ding on the bonnet easily sorted.

Hi mate,

Looks like a tidy example. How are you finding it being your first GTI?

What options/mods has it got? and have you got any plans for further mods?

Also how come you are replacing the intake, these seem quite popular on the mk5.

Im going to get rid of the intake because even tough it sounds great on full throttle when you just wanna drive around normally the constant turbo spool noise is a bit much. I've bought a K&N panel filter and im having the tune flashed to adjust for it. I havent had the car home yet as it needs a lot of paint correction and a full interior detail which im going to do in my job and document in a youtube series. The only change to the car ill be doing short term in an Alpine head unit. The older one with the ipod connection, I had one in my old E36 M3 and really liked it. I plan on fitting a 30 pin bluetooth adaptor and thatll be my music sorted.

So I went at the car with a polisher and some medium to light compound. Then some autoglym super resin followed by aqua wax. The car turned out pretty well considering I only spent an afternoon on it.

So I did some paint correction today. Followed by a coat of autoglym super resin then some aqua wax. The car is night n day to what it was. Not bad for an afternoons work.
