Error code p0010
« on: April 11, 2021, 04:53:15 pm »
So I've had a bulb go and replaced all 4 bulbs with new ones. The first time it said side bulb defective. Now I've replaced them all it says main right bulb defective.
So I plugged my reader in to see what's going on. And when I plugged the reader in I had two error codes. The P0010 which says camshaft postion actuator open.
And I had another code saying camshaft postion slow I think I erased them all and went for a drive. And when I got back had the same error code again. And the P0010 was back. The car doesn't feel bad or anything. Just wondering what I should have a look at doing or replacing. Everytime I go to solve one problem something else appears still love it though. Thanks guys

You can never just have one problem.. when it rains it pours!

I have seen this code before and I’ve personally had it on my car, it’s to do with the sensor that goes into the cam chain housing for the VVT unit. Some solenoid valve. (Forgotten the correct name for it)

Either the sensor itself has had it internally, the wiring to the sensor is damaged or maybe the sensors connector is broken on top? I found mine broken and where it had broke - it had pulled the pins inside from the connector, so looking at it, you think they’re plugged together but the pins inside wasn’t touching.

Start at that sensor mate

Hope you find the issue.

N205 is the code for the vvt adjuster solenoid.  :notworthy:

Remove the N205 valve and clean it out with electrical contact cleaner.

Potentially change this oil as well if it's been a while.
