Front hub bearing carrier
« on: April 09, 2021, 10:29:54 pm »
So my mate was doing some spannering on the car yesterday and it looks like the garage that worked on the car last has threaded a wheel bolt hole on the nsf hub.
So mate has suggested getting a new bearing rather than chance a 2nd hand hub?
I'll get a price from the dealer and also motor parts direct next week but has anyone used a pattern hub bearing without issues?
There are some on Ebay for £25 - 60......asking for trouble?
Also I see there are 3 or 4 bolt fitting for the golf, any idea what's on the GTI 56 plate?
Thanks.  :happy2:

I've used pattern bearings successfully, think they were £22/side.

Hi mate, I've been told that mine is 4 bolts since I posted. Can't message you yet at you haven't enough posts. Cheers though.

SKF and FAG are OEM grade mate.

If in doubt with aftermarket stuff, Lemforder is a good brand in general.....but for bearings, FAG or SKF all day  :happy2:   Just avoid really cheap Chinglish crap and you can't go wrong.
