New key programming
« on: May 04, 2021, 07:42:56 pm »
Bought the car with 1 key. When I got it home and opened the little pocket under the steering wheel there's another new key in there.

Blade is cut and unlocks the car and the immobilizer is programmed as it starts the car too.

Replaced the battery as the little red light wasn't working and that now lights up but it doesn't lock or unlock the car.

Tried programming it in vcds using 46 central convenicance and module 1 adding 2 keys and clicking buttons but when I do the indictators don't flash and it won't programme itself.

Any ideas?

FYI 2005 axx GTI

It could be they purchased the wrong fob and the alarm in operating on the wrong frequency, hence why it's been discarded and forgotten. I purchased the wrong one for a friends VW Caddy and after I realised my mistake it has sat in a drawer since. I believe they can be 434Mhz or 433Mhz and USA use 315Mhz, probably others too. Just a guess.
