Built in 6 Disc Changer
« on: June 11, 2021, 09:22:40 am »
I see a lot of mk5s with a 6 disc cd changer built into the arm rest.
Mine is not in the arm rest but is instead built within the head unit.

Is this rare or are they just different country specs?

Also, given it’s now 2021 is there any point retaining it to keep the car oem, or would a new Bluetooth device add resale value?

I have the same unit and have plugged a Connects2 into the back of it and put it in the glove box. It gives Aux and mp3 on usb or sdcard, just press CD twice to switch to the Connects2.

According to the original paperwork I have with the car, the changer was specified as an upgrade option on my car from the factory.

I have a 6 disc auto changer and my oem head unit had a 1 disc slot too.

I just use a Bluetooth/for transmitter in the fag lighter socket to play USB tracks to the radio.
