Rumbling noise when driving right but goes away when clutch depressed

<< < (2/2)

Momosan:
Pudding, that's making a bit of sense now, its my first diesel I have ever owned.

My driving style changes from forgetting I'm not in my mk2 anymore (was my daily for 20 years off and on) and pounding it through the rev range, to then realising I am in fact in a diesel and 3rd gearing it everywhere slowly. When I bought it they said it had a clutch change, maybe the DMF was not also changed?

Will price one up, done 35k miles since getting it so maybe its time to invest!

No worries.  Its just suggestions so don't go spending a lot of money based on that

I know what you mean!! I got my first diesel in September (MK6) and it still takes my brain a while to remember - gears, not revs

It's a bit foolish not to replace the DMF at the same time, but they can add a fair bit to the cost, so some people do skip it I'm afraid.
